Darkmatter Soundsystem was founded in 2001 by a collective of like minded individuals who sought to fill a void in the Los Angeles underground. We wanted nothing to do with the restrictive, overpriced nature of clubs and commercial raves, and most importantly we wanted to showcase music that did not fit anywhere else in the L.A. underground. Our collective mission is to explore extreme electronics and splintered beats in independent autonomous zones ...

... As time progressed, we became connected with local and international comrades who were dedicated to the same mission. We are part of a much larger international network, which allows us to we continue to share ideas, collaborate, and support cutting edge, experimental sounds in Los Angeles.
